Plain-English privacy notice

Short version: the guide runs in your browser and we don't see what you enter. If you join a waitlist or ask us to email you a plan, we keep your email and what you told us, use it only for that, and delete it when you ask.

Who we are

Alan Estate is an early-stage Australian business based in Victoria. You can reach us through the contact page.

The guide and plan builder

Your answers in the plan builder (your state, whether there is a will, super, property and so on) are used to show the right steps and are saved only in your own browser so the page remembers where you were. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Waitlists and "email me my plan"

When you fill in a form we collect what you enter: your email, and optionally your name, state, situation, organisation, and any note you write. If you ask us to email your plan we also receive a summary of the answers that produced it.

We use this to tell you about Alan Estate as it develops, to send the plan you asked for, and to understand who is finding the site useful. We do not sell or share it with anyone else. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time through the contact page.

Form submissions are delivered to us by FormSubmit, a form-handling service, and the site is hosted on GitHub Pages behind Cloudflare. Those services process your submission and standard web traffic data (such as IP address and browser type) in order to deliver the site. We use aggregate traffic statistics to see which pages help people; we do not use advertising trackers.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us through the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Changes

This notice will change as the product does. We will date any material update here. Last updated September 2026.
